Over the years and due to the brilliant underwater photographers and marine experts it has developed into a comprehensive database for the identification of marine animals and plants for all interested people.
As an interactive online encyclopedia reeflex.net lives on the shared experience of its users, whether they are divers, saltwater aquarists or other people interested in marine biology. We welcome you to attribute your images and comments.

The intention of reeflex.net, however, is to provide a serious and reliable source of reference for all its users. Please note that we only accept useful contributions with a well-sounded basis in knowledge or experience as well as high-quality images. Any comments not matching these criteria, containing obviously wrong information, etc. may be deleted by our administrators without notice.

The encyclopedia is visited by up to 11,000 visitors daily; last year, the Marine Encyclopedia recorded 4 million visitors with 81.9 million page views.
As of 2026, there are over 17,000 entries on marine life in the Marine Encyclopedia.

An important note regarding the number of litres in the lexicon: It is difficult to specify the optimum number of litres for each animal. It can only be understood as a rough starting point. The various individual factors, such as the pool structure (decoration), the entire stocking and the available swimming space, which play an important role, must be taken into account. It is therefore in the interest and responsibility of every caregiver to determine this in detail beforehand!

Stunning dwarf angel! Great temperament. Had one (TB) for approximately 1 year and added a second one (TB). Took about 3 months for them to pair up. Where a great, friendly addition to the tank. Quickly adapted to frozen and dried pellets.

Ich habe seit mitte Januar 2026 einen TB Exemplar.
Der Fish war am Anfang nur 2 cm gross.
Jetzt swimmt der kleine Fish schön ins Aquarium und frisst al das angebotene futter.
Hat noch keine Interesse in die Korallen.

Sie ist mindestens seit 2023 in meinem Besitz, es fing als Einzelpolyp an.

Im Januar 2026 konnte ich mit einer Bandsäge einen Polypen abtrennen und er ist angewachsen.

Bei der Bekämpfung habe ich einiges probiert, gute Erfahrungen habe ich mit Garnelen wie Lysmata wurdemanni oder Lysmata kuekenthali gemacht, besonders gut hat es auch mit Hahnenkamm-Schleimfisch (Scartella cristata) funktioniert.

Sehr interessanter Fisch, toll zu beobachten. Bei mir sehr friedlich, auch mit anderen Schleimfischen. Am Anfang etwas scheu, aber dann auch bei vielen großen Fischen wenig ängstlich. Ich habe 4 Stück in ein 3500 l Aquarium, Mischbecken mit vielen LPS, eingesetzt, um zu testen, ob er an Anemonia manjano geht. Das war leider nicht der Fall, aber Glasrosen sind sehr schnell verschwunden. Ich hatte die ganze Rückscheibe voll mit kleinen und mittleren Aiptasia, und nach etwas über 2 Wochen waren keine Glasrosen mehr zu finden. Ich füttere nur Trockenfutter, konnte nicht beobachten, dass sie daran gehen, dafür aber auch an Algen.
